Ceejay Publishing
takes its name from Carol and Jim
and was formed in 1985 with the production of our first book: During
1914-15 the Hoylake Free Press published a series of articles under
the title 'Changes in the History of Hoylake in 50 years', written
by Charles Roberts, described as 'a Native of the Place'.
At about the
same time the articles were reprinted as a booklet, and on the front
cover Charles Roberts noted that 'These Articles were written and
appeared without proofs being submitted, hence slight errors, in
many instances, in Spelling, Wording etc'.
In 1985 a copy
of this booklet, belonging to a resident of Hoylake was discovered
by Glynis Pearce, and it was felt that the time was right for a
re-issue of the booklet, and that it should be an exact reprint,
errors included. 'Victorian Hoylake' sold very well and is now out
of print. However, an index has been prepared in case of a possible
future reprint and copies of this index can be supplied in return
for a book of four 2nd Class stamps.
Since then
we have published a variety of books and postcards and also distributed
some titles on a non-profit making basis for local charities.
We are always
willing to consider works for publication provided that they relate
in some way to Wirral, past or present.
If you would
like any more information, or would like to send us an outline of
your work, please write or email, in the first instance, including
a synopsis in no more than 250 words, along with your contact details,
including evenings and/or weekends. We will endeavour to contact
you as soon as we can for a more detailed discussion.
